Not the Little Women

The term women's rights refers to freedoms and entitlements of women and girls of all ages. It however doesn't mean that gender discrimmination doesn't happen in this era, it does. I had a taste of it first hand this week. The hubby and I have been looking for a truck nothing new but newer then what we had. Found one and then couldn't get the loan because of a glitch with my student loans (gotta love college). Get the glitch fixed and ok for a loan the truck we wanted had been sold, ok things happen.
We find a truck this last Sunday that we are interested in. I like to car shop late Saturday evening or Sundays no car dealers and I can write down info and call later, no pressure. So whats the problem? Hubby is leaving Monday afternoon for business trip to Texas won't be home until next Sunday. Do I let the truck sit and hope it is still there or do I go buy it myself? You people do know me right? I decided to go buy the truck if of corse the test drive was as nice as the rest of the truck.
I call the banker to see if he would be OK with this purchase. His words ladies and gentlemen is this "Well I think we can do that but your not going to do something with "hubby" gone are you?" OK slightly irritated but not pissed YET....I say maybe is this a problem? He says uh, um mm no I guess not. Getting madder...he has to complete somethings on his end so we agree he will call me in a few.....two hours later still haven't heard from him. Call him back the stuff he was supposed to do he now does while on the phone with him...getting the impression that if he can stall me from going truck shopping he will. Then he has the nerve to ask "are you sure that "hubby" is OK with this? I mean you handling all the paper work and buying something by yourself with him gone" Now I am pissed...yes I can go buy a truck without my husband, yes he knows, yes he approves, yes he will sign the note when he gets home and you do know that particular payment comes out of my check....now would you please be my banker and not my marriage counselor?
Gender discrimination alive and well....who would have thought??
